Probiotics need appropriate nutrients, such as dietary fiber.  We refer to these nutrients as Prebiotics. The function of Prebiotics is to maintain healthy gut microflora and establish an adaptive growth environment for the survival of Probiotics and keep them full of energy. Simpson Biotech uses modern fermentation and hydrolyzation technology to transform dietary fiber into small molecules that feed probiotics.

Simpson Biotech PREBIOTICS contains multiple precious prebiotics:
1. Whole Profile Fucoidan (WPF)
Simpson Biotech uses exclusive enzymatic hydrolysis to produce Whole Profile Fucoidan (WPF) which gives wide balanced molecular weight distribution with better bioactivities. The WPF includes large, medium and small molecule polysaccharides for diversity of bioactivities and for the higher survival rate of probiotics per nutrient intake. The content of WPF in each single sachet is 150mg, providing a high single dose.

2. Small molecule oligosaccharides: polysaccharides hydrolyze to oligosaccharides by enzymatic hydrolysis

  • Oligofructose–enriched inulin (OEI): OEI is one of the best tasting and most commonly used prebiotics which can increase satiety. Fermented OEI is the best nutrient easily used by probiotics.
  • Lactosucrose: Lactosucrose is a critical prebiotic which can defend against stomach acid and small intestinal enzymes. It not only provides nutrients to probiotics but also changes the ecology of bacterial flora and promotes peristalsis.
  • Xylooligosaccharide(XOS):  Xylooligosaccharide tastes like sucrose but has a much lower caloric profile. It also can provide nutrients, change the ecology of bacterial flora, and promote peristalsis.

3. Dietary fiber

  • Apple fiber: Apple fiber contains soluble and insoluble celluloses which can increase satiety and support the activity of probiotics.
  • Beetroot fiber: Beetroot fiber contains many nutrients, which can promote digestion and complement nutrition.

4. Grain and vegetable fermented powder by lactic acid bacteria:
Large molecule grain and vegetable are hydrolyzed to small and highly absorbable molecules by fermentation.
Unlike most commercial products fermented by vegetables and fruits, Simpson Biotech uses soy beans, coix seed and sesame as main raw materials to be fermented by 3 kinds of probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus casei). After maturing for 6 months, the fermented liquid contains multiple prebiotics derived from the probiotic metabolism like small dietary fiber, oligosaccharides, peptides and amino acid.
